Drum Lessons Dvd
There are many a "drum lessons dvd" out there in the world. Drum lessons on video or dvd can help your drumming because you get to pick what level of drumming you want to learn, or who you want to learn from. My personal favorite is Thomas Lang.
You can pick from some of the top performers/popular ones. Those are usually ones with Travis Barker, Thomas Lang, Buddy Rich, Mike Portnoy and so on. If you are a beginner drummer who doesn't have any beats down you can check out my Free Beginner Drum Lessons.
Tips when Using drumming videos as your source of learning
* Get videos/dvds that have good, solid, well known drummers teaching in them:( That way you can get more reviews on them online or elsewhere)
* Pick your appropriate level of drumming:( Don't get something to hard for you, it may end up discouraging you).
* Do your best to stick with learning through watching instead of forgetting and going back to your old drumming routine.
** BEST TIP: Try to watch your dvd on a laptop or any portable device like a dvd player. Plug in some Vic Firth Isolation Headphones(or other isolating noise headphones)and try to Jam ALONG with the dvd that your watching!**
Popular Picks for Drum Lessons on Dvd
Tommy Igoe LEVEL: Beginner
This one is great for beginners. Tommy is very understandable and easy to follow. If your a beginner drummer then you should try this one out.
Jojo Meyer LEVEL: Intermediate-Advanced
I bought this one to learn the Moeller method. This one is awesome because he can show you one handed drum rolls, the best way to learn how to "bounce" the stick and a lot more. Learning this will separate you from the rest of your drumming friends.
Thomas Lang LEVEL: Advanced/Super Advanced
Thomas Lang is my all time favorite! If your not advanced then this one will take you a loooong time to get down depending on the effort you put in.
Thomas goes from simple stick trips to mind blowing double bass patterns, odd time signatures, awesome footwork and a whole lot more.
